    UseBB Description

UseBB 1 is an Open Source forum package developed in PHP 4 and using the popular MySQL database back-end to store data. Unlike other popular forum systems, UseBB does not strive to have as many features as possible, but to be one of the easiest and most usable forum packages, limiting the basic feature set to only the essential. UseBB is pure forum software.

UseBB is an ideal solution for small to medium-sized websites which require an easy to use forum package without the bloat, that produces standards compliant output, is secure and easily configurable.

    Features missing from UseBB 1

The following features were deliberately not implemented in the light UseBB 1.0 forum solution. However, some of these features are planned for UseBB 2.

    • Attachments
    • Polls
    • Private messages
    • Subforums
    • User groups

I have been using this forum for two years now and still love it. It lacks some features the 'big ones' have, but on the other side: who needs all the bells and wisthles, plugins etc. others offer if that -in many cases- breaks security?

At this moment my forum has 30,994 posts in 1,228 topics. It is still amazing fast and stable. I love it. I also use MiniBB on another website, but UseBB beats it big time.

For small and lightweight forum my choice was allways punBB. Now I reconsider my choice and I am taking UseBB.ACP is nice and clean, every option category is separated from each other. On default it have Prune members option. Forum permissons have more options than with punBB.With mods it can have private messaging.UseBB2 will have subforum feature. There is bright future for UseBB, keep up good work.

I absolutely recommend this forum package above all others listed here. The forum is fast, packed with only the nessescary features (and features like a quick reply), fast and simple administration panel. It's also very easy to port CSS web templates for it, for example those found on OSWD.org. UseBB 2.0 is going to be even better, with much more features (still following the 'Use' part of the name though). (I'm going to use it on my own website when the new version of the site is finished, since my current phpBB configuration gets bombarded with spammers... ~30 a week)

Never seen this BB before but it seems very quick. I like the look so far. Very simple and admin is extremely simple.
