Awesome CMS. Easy to edit, make templates for and manipulate code. Customers barely call me with questions after their initial training. Some customers skip their training because it's so intuitive.

I have used many cms like joomla, drupal and no doubt they are great but they don't compare to concrete 5 in terms of ease of use and robustness I think so far concrete is the best CMS.

Better than Joomla ?

:-)
- No, it's better than Website Baker and better than CMS Made Simple.
- Permissions to content is outstanding.

:-(
- Not many $0 modules.
- Not many templates.

@Tom
No problems (discovered yet) running Concrete on Ubuntu Server 9.10.

Concrete does not depend on Linux : http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/background/system_requirements/

It's a very sophisticated for the OS, because not every version is working well.
I used it on XAMPP, and was surprised. It works well.

But not every Host could manage concrete5. I've changed the provider and there it don't works, too.
I'm sad about this, but I think it's not clean programmed for every Linux-Distribution.

Silverstripe is okay.
Website baker is okay.
Joomla is good (and V1.6 even better).
But Concrete just ROCKS !

Explorer like website overview and user/group access rights.

C5 is my most favorite CMS by a long short. I like the ease with which I can develop websites because it is intuitive, how i can easily connect from my website to the C5 addon server and easily install them without having to first download and then upload to my site. The dashboard is also phenomenal. Would very much like the drop-down menu to come as a free add-on...c'mon guys!

5 Stars.
Joomla, Drupal, and the *Nukes have extensibility, but low usability. They're GPL, meaning any code you write is not yours, it belongs to the license holder.

concrete5 is MIT, has the greatest usability of any design system I have ever seen (including the enterprise level commercial systems.) Code you write is yours, to do with as you will.

It is not a one-size fits all, best thing in the universe, install it on your server or die, package. It's a content management system with a superb front-end "in context editor", a simple and streamlined backend for comprehensive site management, and a fundamental philosophy. A page is a page.

You can put things on pages, organize according to your available widgets, blocks, and content, and it's all very natural and intuitive. It's easier than Joomla or any of the rest. It's built with SEO in mind, removing much of the clutter and cruft seen in other systems.

If you need a web application platform for PHP, I would suggest ModX. If you need a platform for Python development, then you can't do much better than Plone. However, if you need an easy to use, full-featured system to manage a website and its content, concrete5 is going to be a great match.

The documentation is good, the community is friendly and helpful, and the setup is smooth. You'll get the support you'd expect from an open source project (and the price,) and there are paid training courses, paid support programs, and consultants available for hire.

In short, concrete5 is an excellent, scalable system that's capable of handling any website scenario you can dream of. It's extensible and well written, so integration with third party systems should be painless, and adding components, features, or add-ons of your own is a simple process as well.

Watch the videos, if you do nothing else to research this system. No other system out there measures up - concrete5 sets the bar high. I don't know that its the best in the world, but it's certainly the best I've ever seen.

I have been a long time Microsoft SharePoint developer and user but find the cost and effort way too expensive to create fast useful sites.

I have been amazed with the clean easy to use design of the latest version of Concrete 5. In many ways I think it's what SharePoint tried to become but failed as the advanced tool for average user as well as the development platform for professional developer.

I like the MarketPlace for the Add-ins and Themes as it offers many features just like the SharePoint Web parts after market. After all who has time to re-invent the wheel!

I suggest that you give it a close look for your next project.

I worked with DotNetNuke for a long time then started looking for a CMS I could use on Linux servers. As soon as I saw Concrete5 I felt it had found something really special. I've been developing sites with C5 for a while now, it's been a joy to work and my clients love how easy it is to edit and maintain the finished web site. 5 stars from me!

We have used Concrete 5 for a while now and it is loved by us as developers and by our clients for its ease of use.

We have the freedom to integrate any design we come up. We can design around it not for it.

Its simply the best CMS on the planet.

I love this CMS. I am a designer and couldn't believe how easy it is to port a template into a Concrete5 Theme. The interface is incredibly intuitive and gives a lot of freedom and power to whoever is creating content. I first got turned onto Concrete5 when I needed to provide a website to a basically computer illiterate client who wanted to update his website regularly. C5 is/was the answer. After 1 hour of coaching my client was on his own and doing great. Complete websites out of the Box - Amazing!

I've been using Concrete5 for a couple years now, it is by far the easiest and best looking GUI I have used (and I used a few others before switching to C5).

I love the version updates, they are very easy to do, especially compared to doing updates on another particular CMS which will remain nameless.

I've been using Concrete5 for a while now and the project has come on in leaps and bounds. It's amazing how much time and effort has gone into this, not only from the core team but the community. Once you have your server environment sorted, Concrete5 is really a breeze to use and work with. The marketplace is growing every week with new stuff, a lot of which is still free. The core team has picked up the pace with support services, hosting options and now offers great training packages. It can really be a one stop solution. I definitely recommend trying it if you haven't, you will love it!!
