MiaCMS is a fork of the Mambo CMS. Why a fork? We felt that the policies, processes, and priorities of the official Mambo Foundation were having a negative impact on the code and the community. Innovation, creativity, and team spirit have all but been eliminated. Thus the fork. Much of the same crew that built you Mambo 4.5.3+ through 4.6.3 are here now continuing development on the same award winning software base that everyone has come to know and love. What is wrong with the people who post around here? Why have they not addressed the ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM where Mia CMS is concerned? Can they not read, right on the front page of the Mia CMS web site that the Mia project is now dead? Gone! Kaput! THE MIA CMS PEOPLE HAVE ALL MOVED OVER TO THE ALIRA CMS PROJECT. Mia is no more. Get a clue, people!

I don't know Mambo but this CMS looks pretty much like Joomla which doesn't bother me as Joomla is OK. But why copy the bad features. One of them is that you cannot have sub categories and that is really a pain for lots of users including me.
Now Joomla 1.6 will change this and I suppose MiaCMS too but to get more users you should not follow Joomla but be 1 step forward.
Your CMS looks great but you should make it your own.

yes, indeed it is. 3 steps, check requirements, enter your db info, choose an admin name and pass... that's it. Also, the installer steps warn you about any potential problems.
Grab a copy and try it ;) If you have any questions, you can ask in the forum.

From my very superficial evaluation of this CMS by simply poking around the default installation on this site, it seems like a very, very nice, feature-ful CMS . . . has the feel of this Open Source CMS named DotNetNuke which is built with VB.NET for the ASP.NET framework. DotNetNuke was a hell to install and set up though . . . I wonder how easy it is to install and set up MiaCMS . . .

nope, you are incorrect in both points.
1.) The panel does not look like Mambo, different theme, different menus. Also, I guess you have not tried validating it using W3C validator yet huh? and compare the results as what you will find with Mambo? big difference there fella..

Not at all special. Admin panel looks exactly like Mambo. They even forgot to remove the Mambo logo in the frontend.
