It's funny that a low rated piece of junk CMS with perpetual security problems has to cheat through massive voting to raise themeselves to the top of the ratings to get people to look at it. Look elsewhere people.

Used this for a while. Well not this version of it. I used a pre modded php nuke called pc nuke. I have to see I liked it and liked the massive list of add ones you could get for it, not to mention the massive amount of skins found for it. I even found a add on to run invision powerboard with it. How ever the site that makes that got hacked and the ad on does not work with the newest version as far as I know unless they have made changes which they might have. The only problem I saw was that it had 2 profile sections which my members did not like. It had one for the forum and one for the site. members did not like configuring both.

PHP-Nuke is an amazing CMS which has a number of security problems. But, these can be plugged if your willing to spend the time. The features you get are worth the risk! VBulletin is the next best alternative I feel. Though you have to pay for that.

My first cms was php-nuke and then post nuke - both are a nightmare with numerous security vunerabilities. Every site ive implemented either of these CMS's have been hacked. So i migrated to mambo / joomla - and I await my first hacking after 25 mambo/joomla sites ive built.

I started my community portal with PHP-Nuke, as a newbie, I thought it's easy to setup and launched. The facts, so mamy moduls, blocks, addons and patched you cant find from PHP-nuke's communities. Yes, you need to work to customized

PHP-Nuke is a great CMS if you have a host with Fantastico. If you're hosting yourself, good luck. Very slow script. I myself am just going to make the switch to Joomla!

PHP-Nuke is the best CMS. I should know, I've tried them all before I desided to settle with PHP-Nuke. Yes, installation is tricky, but there are installers available. You basically just upload the files to your server and then run the installer and that's it!

If you are prepared to put the time and effort into it is is great, otherwise, stick with Joomla

all i have to say is the newer versions of php-nuke are not as good as php-nuke 7.5 or 7.6 but there is alot more places to get better copys of php-nuke that has been patched

Don't waste your bandwidth by downloading this CMS. PHP Nuke is the worst CMS ever done. The script is slow, take too much time to render one single page. The customization is null. Even for a newbie, the installation doesn't work out of the box. You need to edit a part of the script in order to make the whole thing working. The author of PHP Nuke doesn't respect the Open Souce principles. When a new release is out, you need to pay to download the new package, which containt lots of bugs unfixed. I repeat, don't waste your time by downloading this CMS. Drupal do a really better job than this one (and Drupal is well developped).

i have been using PHP-nuke for almost a year. Even for a newbie like me i don't find it is difficult to use. there are plenty of supports available. besides, many blocks and modules are available for PHP-nuke. i would highly recommend PHP-nuke.

I've been using PHPNuke for over 2 years now and I would agree with most of the comments below. I'm not so happy with the flexibility offered in terms of looks or the security issues either. You have to really do a lot of extra work to ensure that your installation is secure and usable. On the other hand, the user community IS quite big and responsive, with superb patches and modules. Also the extra modules give it a level of customization that's quite good, even for novice web designers.

I totally agree with "BSB" PHP-Nuke is very difficult to install (for newbie's). Joomla is much better (easy install, tons of support).
