Freeway Description
Freeway is the most advanced Open Source eCommerce platform and includes an array of features not found in extremely expensive commercial systems. Without having to purchase a commercial system and then paying a developer to build custom installation, Freeway does most of what you need out of the box. For example, instead of getting dragged into purchasing an overpriced products based system and having a developer struggle for weeks and eventually fail to force products sales into event sales, Freeway already support events AND services AND subscriptions.

Installed it and used it, it has some bugs in order status, I don't know about events and services, I've heard there are some issues, tables for products and orders are linked but they are different, so it has to be fixed by customizing, it is almost completely based in oscommerce, so from there the codings are not clean, there are some unnecessary things here and there, customizing the frontend is a nightmare, virtually impossible, the frontend has to be almost built from scratch, I didn't need it so it worked for me, I just needed the backend so nevermind, in any case, the project seems like abandoned, lots of trash and spam on their forums, it is a shame because it is promising, lack of support, you need a developer to customize it

I was really looking to use it on my server. But it's not working properly at all.

This is the first time thet I write about a bad script.
I am experienced about web apps, I installed more than 50 scripts, but Freeway is the wrost script that I have installed. The installer does not work properly, the settings like language and sessions fails.
I try to install this script for 2 hours, and finally I deside to delete it.

Would like to give it a try however noticed the project roadmap stopped being updated at the Freeway site in May 2008? Anyone know the status. We currently use 2 commercial apps to produce most of the websites for our customers but would love to find some new open source apps besides Zen and OS.

Ive just installed it without any problem, except of changing gd library with gif support. I used IE7. Database recognizing can be skipped, or you can enter your database username and password and push button at the foot of the page to retest. Its looking the most interesting and promising between open source e-commerce engines (as Im looking for flexible one and wanna modify it to curtain purposes). So now Im going to check it out.

Been working with the system for a while now. The deeper into it I get, the buggier it gets. Definitely a work in progress but still definitely worth following- very promising.

I did use IE for its install, and had a few others check it on thier servers, it simply fails and wont recognise the Dabase. It looks great, but if it wont install, the rest of the system may be a buggy I'll look at Zen though thankyou!!

the installer works properly if you are using.. ie or at least avant browser. freeway admin and it's functions look really great and the front-end template is fantastic [though i want to change everything as always :)]. the most confusing thing is joomla integration, but they say it's going to be fully integrated in mid feb, so i hope that some things will be fixed in a week or two.

Just another poorly developed port of oscommerce. Very buggy - play around with the demos here and on their site before even considering this. If you want a reliable webstore with a strong developer community look to Zen-Cart instead.

Tried this system, the installer does not work properly, tried downloading it again, its a great looking system and I would use it, sadly the new version wont install and a few others who have tried it said the same.. ITs a real shame as it would be perfect for what I wanted.
